UPSSSC JE 2026: Important Dates

Event Electrical Mechanical
Advertisement publication 12 October 2026 12 October 2026, as shown in the supplied recruitment details
Online registration / application fee begins 6 November 2026 3 November 2026
Last date to submit application and pay fee 27 November 2026 25 November 2026
Last date for fee reconciliation and permitted corrections 4 December 2026 2 December 2026
Main examination date To be announced separately To be announced separately

The fee-reconciliation deadline is important. The Electrical notice explains that an application printout may not be available until the payment is successfully reconciled. It allows the candidate to complete permitted corrections during the reconciliation period, but the application fee itself must be paid by the stated application deadline.

For Mechanical applicants, the notice states 25 November 2026 as the application/payment deadline and 2 December 2026 as the final date for reconciliation and permitted modification. Do not assume the Electrical deadline applies to Mechanical or vice versa.

PET-2025: Mandatory Eligibility and Shortlisting Rules

For the main examination, candidates must meet the mandatory qualification for the selected post, have appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET-2025), and have a PET-2025 scorecard issued by the Commission. Meeting the PET condition alone does not establish eligibility for a technical post; the education, age and other requirements still apply.

  • Shortlisting basis: The Commission will shortlist candidates for the main examination according to merit using the normalised PET-2025 score, under the rules in the relevant advertisement.
  • Zero or negative score: Candidates with an absolute or normalised PET-2025 score of zero or below are not to be shortlisted for the main examination under the Electrical notice.
  • Shortlisting ratio: The Electrical notice describes shortlisting up to 15 times the number of advertised posts, category-wise, including candidates at the final cut-off score, subject to the stated rules.
  • Under Investigation / Provisional cases: Candidates marked Under Investigation (UI) or Provisional may be permitted to apply provisionally, but subsequent shortlisting and selection remain subject to the Commission’s final decision on the pending matter.
  • Post-specific eligibility remains essential: Applicants should check the exact mandatory and preferential qualifications before selecting any post.

The application instructions require candidates to hold the required qualification and related certificates by the final application date. For the Electrical notice, that date is 27 November 2026. The Mechanical notice sets its own final application date; candidates should use the date stated in that advertisement.

UPSSSC JE Eligibility 2026: Educational and Technical Qualifications

There is no single qualification that can safely be applied to all posts in these advertisements. The recruitment includes Junior Engineer roles and other technical or support roles whose eligibility comes from the applicable departmental service rules. The final check should always be the specific row and qualification note for the post selected in the online form.

Electrical recruitment

For several JE Electrical posts, the notification refers to a three-year diploma in Electrical Engineering or an accepted equivalent qualification; some post rules also specify High School along with the three-year Electrical Engineering diploma. Other listed roles, such as Electrician and Research Assistant, have their own requirements. Therefore, do not treat a diploma as a blanket qualification for all 380 vacancies without checking the post-wise rule.

  • Confirm the exact diploma, degree, trade or other credential required for the selected post.
  • Check whether the notice accepts an equivalent qualification and whether the equivalence must be formally recognised.
  • Make sure the qualification and its supporting certificate were obtained by the relevant application deadline.
  • Enter the institution/board/university, passing year, certificate or roll number, marks and certificate issue date as requested by the application system.
  • Review whether the selected post has a preferential qualification or additional condition.

Mechanical recruitment

The Mechanical notice includes JE Mechanical posts as well as Technical Assistant (Mechanical), Instructor Machine, Assistant Storekeeper, Mechanic and Assistant District Panchayati Raj Officer (Technical). The required credential is not identical for each role. For example, a storekeeping or mechanic position must be assessed against its own service rules rather than assuming it follows the diploma requirement for a JE Mechanical post.

  • Read the qualification row for the exact department and post title.
  • Check the relevant service rules cited in the notice, including the accepted academic or technical qualification.
  • Check whether a post has a minimum experience, trade, preferential qualification or other requirement.
  • Keep proof of qualification and any supporting documents available for verification.
Eligibility safeguard: The reference article’s broad descriptions are useful as an overview, but a candidate should not rely on a general phrase such as “Electrical diploma” or “Mechanical qualification” where the official notification specifies a different post-level rule.

Study the Syllabus Alongside the Eligibility Rules

Once you identify the post you qualify for, map its technical syllabus into weekly targets and leave time for the non-technical sections.

UPSSSC JE Age Limit 2026, Relaxation and Certificates

Age requirements are governed by the applicable service rules and the particular post named in the notice. Many of the listed roles use an age band of 18 to 40 years, but it is not safe to treat this as a universal rule for every vacancy. Some posts have their own age-calculation date, departmental concessions or conditions for serving employees.

How to check the age condition correctly

  1. Find the exact department and post title in the official vacancy/qualification table.
  2. Read the age rule and the relevant service-rule reference given for that post.
  3. Confirm the date on which age is calculated; do not calculate age using the day you happen to submit the form.
  4. If claiming relaxation, identify the relevant category and ensure that the certificate is in the prescribed format and issued by the competent authority.
  5. Check special conditions for employees of a department or corporation, where mentioned.

The Mechanical notification, for example, describes 18 years completed and 40 years not exceeded on the applicable reference date for certain posts such as Mechanic, while other posts are subject to their own service-rule language. The Electrical notification also includes post-specific age rules and certain concessions for eligible regular employees of the relevant corporation. These examples should not be transferred automatically to other posts.

Reservation and EWS certificate requirements

  • Applicants seeking a reserved-category or age-relaxation benefit must obtain the required certificate in the prescribed format from the competent authority.
  • The Electrical notice specifies that an EWS certificate should be issued between 1 April 2026 and 27 November 2026, be based on income for financial year 2025–26, and be valid for financial year 2026–27.
  • Other reservation categories must follow the notice’s format, date and eligibility requirements. The same certificate timing should not be assumed for every category unless the relevant notice says so.
  • Applicants claiming horizontal reservation—such as disability, ex-serviceman or other notified categories—should review the applicable definitions and supporting documents.

UPSSSC JE Application Fee 2026 and Payment Reconciliation

The supplied fee tables show no separate application charge for the listed categories and an online processing fee of ₹25. Candidates shortlisted for the main examination may have to pay a separate examination fee before downloading the admit card. Confirm the fee table and payment instruction in the exact notification and portal before paying.

Category Application fee Online processing fee Amount at application stage
Unreserved / General ₹0 ₹25 ₹25
Other Backward Classes ₹0 ₹25 ₹25
Scheduled Caste ₹0 ₹25 ₹25
Scheduled Tribe ₹0 ₹25 ₹25

The payment methods named in the instructions include debit card, credit card, internet banking, UPI and the prescribed SBI e-challan route. Only the methods enabled or specified by the Commission should be used.

Why fee reconciliation matters

  • The form is treated as submitted after successful payment and reconciliation under the portal process.
  • If a payment acknowledgment receipt appears instead of the completed application, the transaction may not yet have reconciled.
  • The Electrical instructions describe the “Update Your Transaction ID by Double Verification” option in the Applicant Segment for verifying the transaction and completing fee reconciliation.
  • For an e-challan, the candidate must pay through the specified SBI process and then enter/verify the transaction details through the portal as instructed.
  • Download and print the final application form only after the successful-submission state is visible.
Deadline distinction: The final application and fee-payment date is not the same as the later fee-reconciliation/correction date. Do not delay initial payment on the assumption that the later date extends the application window.

UPSSSC JE Exam Pattern 2026

The notices describe an objective, multiple-choice main examination consisting of 100 questions for 100 marks, with a total duration of two hours. Each question carries one mark. UPSSSC JE Selection Process 2026

The selection pathway begins with PET-2025-based shortlisting for the main examination. Shortlisted applicants then appear in the main written examination. Further action, including document scrutiny, consideration of post preferences and final recommendation/allocation, is governed by the applicable advertisement and departmental service rules.

  1. PET-2025 screening: Candidates must hold the required scorecard and meet the eligibility rules. Shortlisting uses the normalised score and the applicable merit/cut-off provisions.
  2. Main written examination: The paper tests branch-specific technical knowledge along with computer/IT and Uttar Pradesh general information.
  3. Document verification: The Commission checks education, age, category and other claims against the original certificates and applicable rules.
  4. Post preference and allocation: Candidates are required to provide post preferences at the stage specified in the notice. The Commission states that allocation is considered in light of availability, merit, qualifications and age conditions, and its decision on allocation is final under the stated instructions.
  5. Final selection: The final outcome depends on examination merit, vacancy availability, verification and the rules applicable to the selected post.

PET participation is a screening prerequisite, not a guarantee of a main-exam call or final appointment. Candidates with unresolved UI/Provisional PET status should also note that the Commission may make further action subject to its decision in the pending matter.

Pay Scale and Service Conditions

The recruitment covers several departments and job titles, so a single salary figure should not be assumed for all 1,536 posts. The official vacancy tables and qualification annexures connect each post to its applicable service rules and pay level. The supplied reference material does not establish one uniform pay scale for every role in both notices.

Before deciding on a post, open the exact row in the relevant official advertisement and check the pay level/pay band, basic pay, allowances, probation or service conditions, and whether the post is permanent or temporary as stated. Do not treat third-party salary estimates as a substitute for the official service-rule entry.

Pay information limitation: This article deliberately does not assign one salary to every post, because the notifications cover different roles and departments. Use the official post-wise entry for the role you select.

How to Prepare for UPSSSC JE 2026

Electrical candidates

  • Break down the 13 technical subject headings into smaller topic checklists and mark each as new, revised or test-ready.
